Soils Technician
Job Posting: Soil Technician
Sage Geotechnical, LLC (Sage), a Tumwater-based geotechnical engineering firm, is seeking a full-time soil technician to complete laboratory testing and fieldwork. The approximate starting wage will be $25.00-$35.00 per hour, based on applicant’s qualifications.
Qualifications

A high school diploma (or GED). Additional education or job experience preferred.

A valid driver’s license for travel to and from job sites.

Proficiency in mathematics at an Algebra level.

The ability to work independently at job sites and to communicate effectively with subcontractors and construction foremen/superintendents.

The ability to read, write, and speak in English.

The ability to work in office/on site.

The ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

The attention to detail needed to document field activities, observations, and test results in concise logs/reports.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

The aptitude to complete job-specific certifications and training.

Familiarity with ASTM International standard test methods is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities

Performing soil laboratory testing.

Documenting field activities, observations, and test results.

Confirming that construction activities conform with the project plans and specifications.

Communicating test results to the geotechnical project manager and the general contractor.

Assisting with day-to-day business operations.
