About Calvin

Calvin McCaughan started Sage Geotechnical with long-time colleague and friend, Daniel Simpson. Calvin is a licensed Professional Engineer (in Washington and Oregon) and a seasoned project manager with more than 20 years in the business.

He believes you don't need to make big problems out of small ones.

​

At work, Calvin manages geotechnical investigations, design, and construction monitoring for the following: 

• Water/wastewater infrastructure

• Bridge and fish passage projects

• Landslides

• Waterfront development

• Development within Thurston County​

​

At home, he manages family life with five active kids in the following areas:

• Fishing

• Gardening

• Carpooling

• Front-yard baseball

• Driveway basketball

• Cribbage

He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Wyoming (Go Pokes!)
